MEETING INFORMATION
AND HOST CLUB DATES
The
Federation normally has meetings once a month at various
locations around Orange
County. Many clubs have facilities large enough to accommodate
the 20 to 40 club representatives who normally attend. When
a club does not have the ability to host a meeting, the
meeting will be held at another club or at a public or private
facility. Each club is chosen as a host club on a rotating
basis. With over 24 clubs in the Federation, each club only
has to be the host a little less than once every 2 years.
The host club normally provides a light meal for those attending.

The
meetings are attended by representatives from the various
clubs, by people giving presentations
and by various government officials, both elected officials
and people who work for various government agencies. We
discuss pending and proposed legislation, rules, regulations
and other topics related to the Federation's goals. We also
discuss the various programs and events that we are involved
with. The meeting are also a chance to hand out information
of importance or interest to the member clubs.

HISTORY
The sportsmen
and sportswomen of Orange County have been meeting and engaging
in projects throughout the area since the early 1940s. Many
of the same individuals who had been working to make the out-of-doors
a better place for all to enjoy, formed the Orange County
Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, Inc. and incorporated it
in 1958.
Through the years many programs
and activities have been added such as the Federations support
of the Friends of the NRA Dinners, the Annual March on Albany,
and the Annual Youth Fishing Derby among other outreach and
educational programs.
The Federation is proud of its
accomplishments including actions and activities to increase
all types of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing
by making new land available and helping to prevent the loss
of public access to land and water.
