In the spring of every year the Federation sponsors the Hudson Valley Friends of the NRA Dinner. Proceeds from this fund raiser are used to promote education programs in NY and across the nation.

     Very few events that you attend will be as much fun as a Friends of the NRA Dinner and the Orange County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs is very proud to be the sponsor of the Orange County Hudson Highlands event. Because promoting education is one of the Federations's goals, it is import that we help raise the funds that will be used across NY State to fund the programs and activities that are needed to meet our objectives. It does not hurt that we can all have a lot of fun while we are at it and take home a few nice prizes at the same time. Half of all the money raised at these events stay in NY and are given as grants to many of the local clubs for a wide range of programs.
     Events such as the Friends of the NRA Dinner also provide opportunities for those who want to become more involved by volunteering to be on the coordinating committee or by attending the dinner. Other individuals, clubs, groups and companies also can be involved by donating prizes. We would like to thank all of those who donate their time or prizes to this event. If you know a volunteer or a businesses that helps please thank them.

WHAT WILL YOU FIND AT A FRIENDS OF THE NRA DINNER?

You will find people like you who believe in our freedoms, our rights and the NRA!
	Many of the local Clubs and groups attend the dinner and they buy one or more tables for their members and they receive special "extras" for purchasing a full table.

You will find individuals who are being recognized for their hard work and involvement and clubs who are being awarded their grant.
Every year individuals and clubs are recognized for their many contributions on the many different projects in Orange County.
		Each year grants from the NRA Foundation are awarded to clubs from Orange County and from the region. These awards for education and other approved programs are why we hold these fundraising events.

		You will find those who represent you in your town, Orange County, Albany and Washington DC.
Sen. Bill Larkin votes on our issues in Albany.			Many other local politicians also attend.
One of the raffles is called the "Grand Slam". You can win a prize on a local level but all of the tickets are saved and entered in a state wide raffle for the "Grand Slam" winner. All of the tickets from over 20 New York Dinners are in the "bucket" and one ticket is chosen. That lucky person wins one each of everything in the Standard Merchandise package that is offered by the NRA. That includes one each of all of the guns. In December 2008, one of the entries from the Orange County Hudson Highlands Friends of the NRA Dinner won the "Grand Slam" prize. This is a picture of him with all of the prizes:
